Just having a look through some potential earnings plays for next week and KORS looks to be a possibility.

I’m going to keep an eye on this one after I close out the trade in V. If V works out, then KORS could be my next trade. If V blows up…back to the drawing board.

Placed an earnings trade in Visa [V]. Earnings are announced before market open on Monday. I haven’t really done too many earnings based trades, so this is a small position more as an experiment. If it works out, I’ll try another one during the week.
The trade is closed pretty quick after the earnings announcement, this isn’t a positional trade. Almost a day trade mentality. A few variables have to come together, so, as much art as skill.

Today, in 1929, the stock market crashed ushering in the Great Depression.
We started exams on the 29 October and hopefully history won’t repeat. We started with Trust Law. Next up Criminal Law, Sale of Land and culminating in Tax Law.
I also have two employment cases headed towards court. So a very busy time.

Friday is an options expiry week. I only have one position that I have to roll as I have been managing the positions as I go. I would have simply rolled today, but the premium is still far to high…I would take a loss on a position that should actually be a profit.

I’ve been managing the XLF position as the market has moved to the upside quite significantly over the last two trading days. Probably should have executed today’s trades on Friday, but, executed them today.
I’ll update later today.

Opened a new trade in XLF. Better liquidity in this than there is in XHB. Liquidity is [in the short term] a real issue so I’m looking to see if the greater liquidity provides, or rather prevents, larger drawdowns.
The new position uses about $900 [small position].

*Update
After the strong close, my final PnL for the day
